How is a Website different than other categories?
Websites can display materials online, your own historical analysis as well as primary and secondary sources. Websites are interactive experiences where viewers can play music, look at a video or click on different links. Viewers can freely navigate and move through the website. Websites use color, images, fonts, documents, objects, graphics and design, as well as words, to tell your story.
Website Requirements:
- You must create your website using the NHD Site Editor
- Your website must have no more than 1,200 student-composed words, excluding: brief citations that credit sources, recurring menus, titles, and navigation instructions, word count notifications, primary sources, process paper, and annotated bibliography
- You must create a Process Paper and Annotated Bibliography
- Your website must have a page that will be the home page that will include: x title x name(s) of participants x Junior Division OR Senior Division x number of student-composed words in the website x number of words in the process paper x menu to access the other parts of the website
- All pages can connect by clicking links
- Your website must have no more than four (4) minutes of multimedia (music and video) in the entire website
- Have all primary source material integrated and included in the website, not linked to another website.
- Cite all primary and secondary sources and multimedia and where they are placed in the website and in the annotated bibliography included in the website
- Must be viewer compatible on multiple browsers
